Comics Workshop

We invite 9 artists to participate in a communal workshop, where they will spend 6 hours creating comics with one general constraint to guide them. This challenges the storytelling skills of the artists by trying to push them outside of their comfort zone, to think creatively outside the box.

Dabke Workshop

The workshop consists of teaching the technicalities and the basic rules of the Lebanese traditional Dabke dancing, and it will be divided into three-part. First, we start with the necessary warm-up for this kind of dancing. Second, we will learn the basic rules and the basic movements that this kind of dancing is formed of. We will end this part with a short choreography. Third, we will work on the quality of the movement and how to use it while moving the body and how to use it without dancing or use it with different kinds of music in order to create a new way of engagement using improvisation way.

Printmaking In The Garden

Under the warm July sun, we will meet in the garden of our studio for an afternoon of printmaking. Participants can choose between two techniques; Monotype and Woodcut. Each session will last 2 hours. We will have a brief explanation of the technique and participants will be able to work on their own matrix and pull their own prints.

In Time Workshop

The workshop aims at developing movement composition and improvisation tools and strategies based on a rhythmic approach. In parallel to the rhythm and its infinite possibilities, we will work on different elements such as body weight, shape, verticality, partnering, and group rhythmic actions. The workshop is addressed to both professional and non-professional dancers.
